Kyrgyzpatent submitted the first application for search and examination through EAPO-ONLINE under the Agreement on cooperation in the field of information search and examination of patent applications. The Agreement was signed on the margins of the International Forum “Transformation of IP into an effective tool for the development of the innovation economy” on October 5, 2023. This document provides for the possibility for the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) to conduct searches at the request of Kyrgyzpatent.

“We appreciate it that our colleagues from Kyrgyzpatent promptly selected applications for the search. The rapid implementation of the Agreement shows that such cooperation is in demand. We have already conducted patent searches at the request of the Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.

We consider Kyrgyzstan’s accession to be another step in the formation of a common Eurasian information and examination space. We have all the prerequisites for this. The EAPO and offices of eight Member States actively exchange their experience, study approaches to improve legislation, conduct trainings and internships for specialists”, noted Grigory Ivliev, President of the EAPO.
