EAPO President Grigory Ivliev had a meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Hokim Hikmatullo Kholikzoda in Dushanbe on the margins of the Forum on the Promotion of Inventions and Innovations (April 25, 2024).

The parties discussed the projects implemented by the EAPO for the Member States, including joint initiatives with the Republic of Tajikistan.

Grigory Ivliev noted that Tajikistan is among the leaders of the joint work on digitalization: the option of using 3D models has been introduced, the project of electronic document exchange has been implemented, and intensive activities have been carried out in the field of information security systems and policy.

Cooperation is also progressing in the field of examination. In 2023, the examination of computer inventions was the main focus in this field. The EAPO President proposed to study ways of integrating the leading scientific organizations of Tajikistan into the outsourcing system in the Eurasian space. This will improve the credibility of decisions and involve new organizations with specific capacities in patenting activities.

‘An effective IP protection system is the basis for social and economic development. The EAPO is ready to implement new projects for the benefit of Member States, their innovators, and patent offices. Such projects include the launch of the Eurasian Patent Prosecution Highway EA-PPH program and the Eurasian project of electronic exchange of copies of priority documents to simplify procedures for offices and applicants,’ Grigory Ivliev stated.
