The Baltic Legal Forum of Masters was held in St. Petersburg on April 12 – 14.

The forum entitled “Your Start into the Galaxy of Law” included about 30 business sections. They were focused on intangible assets, mergers and acquisitions, marketing strategy, legal education and sales of legal services, as well as other relevant topics interesting to lawyers specializing in different law fields.

Asemgul Abenova, Director of the Industrial Designs Division of the Examination Department of the Eurasian Patent Office, took part in the section “Legal Aspects of the Creative Industry”. She presented the protection methods for industrial designs in the Eurasian space and highlighted the specifics of the Eurasian system of industrial design patenting.

The moderator of the section was Olga Tereshchenko, Vice-Rector of the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property. Representatives of the National Centre for Intellectual Capital and law firms held an interesting discussion on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in the creative industry. Speakers and participants discussed important issues of IP rights protection and monetization of the results of intellectual creative activity, as well as the specifics of digital environment products.
