Armen Azizyan: Effective IP protection and enforcement are key elements in strengthening regional economies
Armen Azizyan, Vice-President of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) made this statement at the plenary session of the X International Forum "Anticounterfeit-2022", held these days in Bishkek, the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the first international conference "IP Eurasia'22: Innovation Space", specialists discussed problems of parallel import, Eurasian and national patent regulations, instruments for legal protection of inventions and other relevant issues. The conference was organized by the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) and the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property (RSAIP).
The development of legal mechanisms for IP protection directly affects the public’s access to essential medicines. Representatives of the national IP offices of the Eurasian region, government authorities and industry leaders discussed practical tools for business in the field of intellectual property in the Eurasian space within the framework of the EAPO and at the First International Conference "IP Eurasia'22: Space of Innovation".
Plenipotentiary representatives of the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) member states took part in the forty-first (twenty-ninth ordinary) session of the EAPO Administrative Council held on September 20-21, 2022.
