The President of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) met with the heads of African regional offices.
This recommendation is recorded in the protocol of the meeting of the Permanent Working Group on Information Technologies of the Administrative Council of the Eurasian Patent Organization. The meeting of the working group was held on November 21, 2022 under the chairmanship of the Vice President of the Eurasian Patent Office Emil Mammadov.
Grigory Ivliev: We hope to strengthen cooperation between the EAPO and ARIPO for the benefit of our Member States
President of the Eurasian Patent Office Grigory Ivliev spoke at the opening of the 46th session of the Administrative Council of the ARIPO (African Regional Intellectual Property Organization), an organization that unites 22 states. At the event also spoke the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Mr. Daren Tang, Commissioner of the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, heads of large patent offices in the world.
Support the EAPO initiatives to develop Eurasian integration in the field of intellectual property is the primary outcome of the meeting of the Committee on Science, Education and Culture of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.

Details of PCT applications’ entering the regional and national phase and the practice of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) and the national IP offices of the member states of the Eurasian Patent Organization became the main topics of the joint training of the EAPO and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
It took the applicants only two days to submit to the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) an application for a Eurasian industrial design patent with a 3D model of the design included. A set of documents from the Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation) was received by the EAPO on November 3, 2022.
