On October 5 and 6, 2023, Kyrgyzstan held a series of events to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the national intellectual property system with the assistance of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO). The EAPO President took part in the opening ceremony of the International Forum “Transformation of intellectual property into an effective tool for the development of the innovation economy” and congratulated the colleagues from Kyrgyzpatent on the anniversary.

“All offices in our region consider the Kyrgyz experience of public administration of the IP system the best practice. The entire Eurasian region can learn from Kyrgyzpatent. As a unified body, it ensures state policy in the fields of industrial property and copyright, support for innovation, startups and creative industries. I am sincerely convinced that the existence of such a unified controller in the country provides additional opportunities for comprehensive problem resolution,” said Grigory Ivliev.

The EAPO President Grigory Ivliev and Director of Kyrgyzpatent Rakhat Kerimbaeva signed an Agreement on cooperation in the field of information search and examination of patent applications. The agreement allows the Eurasian Patent Office to conduct information searches at the request of Kyrgyzpatent. Such cooperation helps to create a common examination space and improve the quality of patent examinations in the Eurasian region.

The EAPO received the Certificate of Honor of the Kyrgyz Republic pursuant to the Decree of the President of Kyrgyzstan. This state award is granted for increasing the socio-economic and spiritual capacity of the country.
