The EAPO President Grigory Ivliev takes part in the Forum ‘IP and Innovation for the Development of the Country: Together Towards a Successful Future’ organized by Kyrgyzpatent on April 23, 2024, in Bishkek with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization and the Eurasian Patent Office.

The Forum united more than 400 participants, mostly from the regions of Kyrgyzstan. The exhibition ‘40 Districts, 40 Initiatives’ and ‘Startup Alley’ were presented.

At the Forum’s opening ceremony, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, Akylbek Zhaparov, noted that the IP system is the main driver for the development of the innovation economy, and cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and EAPO creates new opportunities for economic growth and investment attractiveness.

Grigory Ivliev highlighted the EAPO’s readiness to promote the development of national IP systems in the EAPO Member States:

‘We aim to implement projects for the benefit of the Member States, their innovators and offices. Patents are followed by new technologies and innovative products; new industries and new jobs are created. We believe that overcoming current challenges in the Eurasian region is only possible by uniting our efforts’.

The EAPO President noted the implementation of joint projects in the fields of examination, IT and information security, as well as prospective development areas of interaction: the Eurasian Patent Prosecution Highway program EA-PPH, the Eurasian project of electronic exchange of copies of priority documents, and patent outsourcing.

Grigory Ivliev awarded two winners of the Eurasian Universiade ‘Advancing the Future’: Aydemi Murzabekova for her competition work ‘Production and Features of Archi Oil’ and Anelya Ruslanova for her competition work ‘Moss in Everyday Usage’.
