"We, like the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO), function in accordance with Russian legislation, which provides for such a procedure of public organizations' scaling evolution. I would like to urge my colleagues, Eurasian patent attorneys from all eight EAPO states, to actively join the Assembly. This will enable us to obtain a new official status more quickly and to participate more actively in the development of intellectual property in Eurasia," commented Eduard Shablin, President of the Assembly.

The founding congress of the new organization was held on April 26, 2023, at the EAPO headquarters. The governing collegial body of the Assembly is the Council, headed by the Chairman, and the executive management body is the President. Sergey Belyaev (Republic of Belarus), Managing Partner of Belyaev & Partners Law Firm, was elected as the Chairman of the Council, and Eduard Shablin (Russian Federation), Eurasian Patent Attorney and Partner of Patentika Law Firm, was elected as the President of the Assembly.

Information about the event and any news about the functioning of the Assembly can be accessed on the official website. (available in Russian only).

"I extend my congratulations to the Assembly, all its founders and members on the official registration. This is an important step that allows the Assembly to work intensively. I am sure that scaling up the Assembly shouldn’t take too long, and we will see the real results of the work in the upcoming months. For the EAPO and the Eurasian Patent Office, the Assembly will become an important source of information on the needs of applicants, businesses, inventors from Eurasian countries, law enforcement practice, as well as a platform for the formation of a consolidated opinion of patent attorneys on the improvement of legal acts and examination approaches," expressed his congratulations Grigory Ivliev, President of the Eurasian Patent Office.
