SPECIALISTS FROM THE PATENT OFFICE OF TAJIKISTAN COMPLETED THEIR TRAINING AT EAPO

From December 18 to December 22, 2023, specialists from the National Center for Patents and Information of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan attended a training course on “practical aspects of substantive examination of inventions related to computer and information technologies” at the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) of the Eurasian Patent Organization.

The leading EAPO examiners gave lectures on different aspects of the Eurasian patenting system related to the specifics of applications’ examination for computer-implemented solutions. The EAPO approaches to the examination of applications for solutions not recognized as inventions, the implementation of patent classifications, the examination of inventions related to the use or implementation of computer programs and/or computer algorithms, and inventions in the field of artificial intelligence were discussed.

During the training, examiners from the two offices exchanged information on examination approaches. They also discussed current practices and answered questions, including those on examination of applications, patent classification and patent search.
