Grigory Ivliev, President of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO), held meetings with the heads of the IP Offices of Turkey, Singapore and Uzbekistan on the margins of the WIPO Assemblies.

During the meeting with Cemil Başpinar, President of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (Turkpatent), the parties agreed to proceed with the mutual recognition as competent International Search Authorities under the PCT. In addition, Grigory Ivliev and Cemil Başpinar discussed the draft Memorandum of Cooperation as well as the prospects for its signing.

The parties expressed interest in promoting and enhancing the examination potential of the countries. They agreed on a systematic exchange of examination experience, as well as on PPH cooperation. Turkpatent is committed to developing cooperation with the national IP offices of the Member States of the Eurasian Patent Organization.

The EAPO President held negotiations with Rena Lee, Chief Executive of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS). The parties reviewed possible areas for cooperation and discussed educational events held at both Offices.

During the meeting with Muzraf Ikramov, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the parties discussed the prospects of membership of Uzbekistan in the Eurasian Patent Organization. The EAPO is ready to share experience, provide technologies and delegate experts to Uzbekistan. The agreement to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation is the first stage in implementation of planned measures to strengthen dialogue. In addition, the parties scheduled a visit of the EAPO delegation to Uzbekistan.
