In July, national applicants filed their first applications for trademark and industrial design registration with 3D models of the claimed objects along with the electronic filing of applications for obtaining protection documents.

According to the official website of the National Centre for Patens and Information of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan (NCPI), the possibility of accepting 3D applications will significantly simplify the process of examination of submitted documents, optimize the application process, and help to identify and demonstrate in more detail the characteristics of the object.

Furthermore, the publication of information on protected objects, including 3D models, contributes to a more visual presentation of the objects to consumers and other stakeholders. The presentation of a three-dimensional trademark or industrial design also contributes to their promotion in modern formats.

The Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) and the NCPI of the Republic of Tajikistan have implemented the possibility of accepting applications with 3D models within the framework of a joint project. Agreements on its implementation were made in March this year during the visit of the EAPO delegation to the patent office of the Republic of Tajikistan.
