On July 23, 2019, at the EAPO headquarters was held a meeting of the Preparatory committee for the Diplomatic conference on the adoption of the Protocol to the Eurasian Patent Convention on the Protection of Industrial Designs.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Eurasian Patent Convention (EAPC) Contracting States: Republic of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.
The main issue on the agenda of the meeting was the draft Rules of Procedure of the Diplomatic conference, which determine the order of the plenary session, the participants in the conference, the authorities of officials and other issues related to the event.
As a result of the Preparatory committee’s work, the draft Rules of Procedure of the Diplomatic conference and the Agenda of the Diplomatic conference were approved for adoption at the plenary session of the Diplomatic conference, as well as the list of the EAPC Contracting States invited to the conference.
The Diplomatic conference will be held on September 9, 2019 in Nur-Sultan, Republic of Kazakhstan, on the day of the 25th anniversary of the signing of the EAPC – the international intergovernmental treaty establishing EAPO and the Eurasian patent system in general.
