The second Eurasian Conference on intellectual property and technology “IP EURASIA/IP INDIA’23” will be held on December 6, 2023.

Presentation of the monograph “Parallel Import and Exhaustion of Exclusive Rights to Intellectual Property. Cooperation in the Development of National Industry and Import Substitution,” written by Beniamin Shakhnazarov, will take place from 16:10 to 17:00 in the Chatsky Hall of the Metropol Hotel.

Parallel imports can be one of the main ways to overcome restrictive economic measures in order to fill the shortage of goods in the market.

The book covers the diverse methods of introducing parallel import opportunities into legislation and examines appropriate IP instruments, customs procedures, and quality assurance measures for parallel imports.

The book will be presented by its author, Beniamin Shakhnazarov (PhD in Law, Professor of the Private International Law Department and Department of Intellectual Rights of the Kutafin Moscow State Law University) and Grigory Ivliev, a book reviewer (PhD in Law, President of the Eurasian Patent Office).

Grigory Ivliev comments on the importance of the monograph:

“Firstly, there are no publications that comprehensively examine the issues arising in the reviewed field of public relations and stated in the monograph.

Secondly, the research conducted in this paper provides a systematic overview of effective mechanisms for supporting the market of goods and services in the Russian Federation in the global political and economic crisis.
