On February 5, 2024, EAPO President Grigory Ivliev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation, Esen Aydogdyev.

The EAPO President presented the key advantages of the Eurasian patent system, the development prospects and priorities of the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO), and plans for the implementation of joint projects for the benefit of EAPO Member States, their innovators, and patent offices. The EAPO is ready to cooperate with Turkmenistan in different areas, including the enhancement of dialogue between IT specialists in offices, the introduction of the option to submit 3D-application files, electronic workflow, and, in the long term, the formation of a common Eurasian information and examination space.

Grigory Ivliev encouraged Turkmenistan to accede to the Protocol for the Protection of Industrial Designs to the Eurasian Patent Convention.

During the meeting, the EAPO President invited the Turkmen colleagues to take part in the forthcoming jubilee events dedicated to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Eurasian Patent Convention.
