The international conference “Intellectual Property in the XXI Century: Trends and Achievements. Outcomes of the Tajikistan Patent Office’s thirty years of operation” commemorated the anniversary of the National Patent Office of Tajikistan. The President of the Eurasian Patent Office, Grigory Ivliev, made an opening statement at the conference and also held a number of meetings at the high state level.

“This date symbolizes a new milestone in the innovative and economic development of the country”, stated the President of the Eurasian Patent Office in his opening statement. He expressed gratitude to the representatives of the National Patent Office of the Republic of Tajikistan for their active participation in the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO). Grigory Ivliev highlighted the significant contribution made by the National Patent Information Center to the discussion on the development of Eurasian integration and the implementation of the Organization’s initiatives.
The President of the Eurasian Patent Office thanked Tajikistan for its support of the Organization’s strategic development objectives set forth in the EAPO Development Program until 2028, emphasizing the implementation of joint projects between the EAPO and the National Patent Office of the Republic of Tajikistan.
“Our Offices have already started an IT dialogue. The possibility of receiving applications with 3D models has been introduced with the support of the Eurasian Patent Office”, reported the President of the Eurasian Patent Office. “In the future we intend to create a common expert-information space that will simplify the work of all Offices, examiners, and specialists and make it more efficient.

Grigory Ivliev noted that Tajikistan actively uses the opportunities of the Office’s educational programs. The representatives of Tajikistan actively participated in the establishment of the Assembly of Eurasian Patent Attorneys. The Head of the Office assured that the Republic of Tajikistan will continue to actively cooperate with the Eurasian Patent Office, developing its national patent system and joint regional projects.

Grigory Ivliev discussed the main aspects of the joint work of the Eurasian Patent Office and the National Patent Office of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the joint implementation of the EAPO Development Program until 2028, at bilateral meetings at the high state level. The President of the Eurasian Patent Office had a meeting with the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zavqi Zavqizoda Amin, and Deputy Prime Minister Matlubakhon Sattoriyon.

During the meetings, the Parties reaffirmed their intentions to actively cooperate in all Program-related aspects. They assured that such collaboration will promote Eurasian integration as well as the development of the national patent system of the Republic of Tajikistan for the benefit of inventors in the Republic of Tajikistan.

The President of the Eurasian Patent Office also met the inventors of the Republic of Tajikistan when he visited an exhibition held in conjunction with the conference. Grigory Ivliev granted the highest award of the Office, the V.I. Blinnikov Medal, to the outstanding innovators of the Republic, namely to the Director of the Scientific Center of Innovative Technologies and Agriculture of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mamajon Safarov, and the Rector of the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University, Mahmadshoh Gulzoda.

Muin Yusupov, Deputy Head of the Department of Mechanics, Physics, and Electrical Engineering, also delivered a speech at the conference. He focused on the advantages of the Eurasian patent system and the peculiarities of the substantive examination of Eurasian patent applications.
