Republic of Kazakhstan: First meeting of heads of intellectual property offices of China and Central Asia

Qazpatent Director Yerbol Ospanov took part in the international forum, a meeting of heads of intellectual property offices, held from July 24 to 26 in Urumqi, the capital of XUAR, China.

According to the official website of Qazpatent, the meeting was organized by the National Intellectual Property Administration of China (CNIPA) and the People’s Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

This is an exclusive meeting of the heads and representatives of the IP agencies of China and Central Asian countries to discuss in-depth cooperation between the agencies.

The event was attended by representatives of intellectual property offices of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. On the first day of the meeting, Mr. Yerbol Ospanov made welcoming remarks and spoke about the issues of promoting the transfer and transformation of intellectual property rights in Kazakhstan.

The website of Qazpatent mentions that in September 2017, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Qazpatent, the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
