A delegation of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) visited the National Patent Office of the Kyrgyz Republic at the end of last week. During the visit, agreements were concluded on the Office’s assistance in the development of information systems for the Kyrgyzpatent.
The EAPO representatives studied the information systems and server equipment of the Kyrgyzpatent. Currently, the National Patent Office of the Kyrgyz Republic has implemented the possibility of filing applications with digital 3D models of the claimed objects. Kyrgyzpatent is in charge of managing such applications. The EAPO will provide the Office of the Kyrgyz Republic with tools to visualize the 3D models as well as to prepare them for publication in order to expand the scope of activities of the national office with 3D models in the examination process.
The EAPO will also assist the Kyrgyzpatent in further improving its information systems, including the system of official publication and open registers of national patent documents.
At the meeting with the Kyrgyzpatent executives, Ilya Kononenko, Deputy Head of the EAPO Information Technology Department, and Samat Baizakov, Director of the Eurasian Patents Register Department, provided information on strategic documents in the digitalization of joint work of the EAPO member states’ offices and interaction with national patent offices in the field of information technologies.
Andrey Ageenko, Director of the Network Infrastructure and Technical Support Department, traditionally provided information on modern approaches and tools for creating a secure IT architecture. At the meeting, agreements were concluded to provide EAPO assistance and consultations to the specialists of the Kyrgyzpatent on the implementation of the Information Security Management System and the configuration of the basic IT infrastructure.
The EAPO delegation’s visit to the Kyrgyz Republic was part of the Office’s program to assist national patent offices of EAPO member states in developing digital systems.
