According to the PWGI, the pilot project of electronic document exchange of the general workflow between the Eurasian Patent Office and the national offices of the EAPO member states will be implemented by the National Patent Information Center of the Republic of Tajikistan. The project involves the digitalization of all processes for the exchange of such documents, including document signing and tracking.

The project will be implemented in the near future, and its results will be reported at the upcoming PWGI meetings. The implementation of electronic workflow is a step stipulated by the EAPO Development Program until 2028, which was adopted at a recent Administrative Council meeting. It is one of the stages of creating a common Eurasian information and examination space.

The issue of using digital three-dimensional models (3D models) in the work of the national patent offices was also discussed at the meeting. Currently, the use of 3D models in the framework of the pilot project has been implemented with the assistance of the EAPO in the offices of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Armenia, and the Kyrgyz Republic.

In their statements, the representatives of the patent offices of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan summarized the work with 3D models. The experiment was considered successful, and the offices expressed their willingness to develop services for working with 3D models in the interests of national applicants. The representative of the Russian Federation announced the readiness of Rospatent to expand regional cooperation in the field of 3D models, including through the use of experience and developments of the Russian office.
