State Agency for Intellectual Property and Innovation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzpatent) and National Academy of Sciences signed the Agreement on cooperation on a wide range of issues in World Intellectual Property Day. The signing ceremony has become one of the highlights of an eventful festive program.
The celebration with slogan «Women and IP: Accelerating innovation and creativity» was held at the Innovation Centre of Kyrgyzpatent. The event was attended by representatives of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, deputies of the Zhogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic, representatives of embassies, international organizations, government ministries and authorities, as well as representatives of the creative community, inventors and authors.
Rakhat Kerimbayeva, Director of Kyrgyzpatent, announced that 76,367 IP objects are protected in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
— The Kyrgyz Republic moved up 4 ranks on the Global Innovation Index compared to last year, with royalty fees increased by 25% and registration of copyright and related rights by 12%. Registration of inventions and trademarks increased by 6% on average.
Kyrgyzpatent together with Eurasian Economic Commission held the International Forum «Anti-Counterfeiting» to fight against the production and consumption of low-quality and dangerous products. Bilateral memoranda were signed with the IP offices of Belarus, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. Together with Rospatent 14 Kyrgyz universities have signed trilateral agreements. — Rakhat Kerimbayeva noted.
Diplomas of the Zhogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic were handled to the staff of Kyrgyzpatent. The winners of competitions organized by Kyrgyzpatent were honored, including the “Women’s Role in Science, Invention and Innovation” award.
As part of the celebration, a seminar «Women and IP: Accelerating innovation and creativity» was held, as well as a meeting with authors and inventors.
The celebration of World IP Day was designated to highlight the role of intellectual property, its impact on economic, social and cultural progress of the country, and to emphasized the importance of women in IP and society.
