Eurasian Patent Organization Development Program until 2028

In May 2023, at the 42nd meeting of the Eurasian Patent Organization Administrative Council, held in Veliky Novgorod, a strategically important document: the Eurasian Patent Organization Development Program for 2023–2028 was adopted.

The EAPO plays a key role in the development of intellectual property in the Eurasian space. The EAPO Development Program for the six-year period contains 8 main objectives:

  • Provision of high-quality products and services by the Eurasian Patent Office
  • Creation of a common information and examination space
  • Digitalization of the Eurasian Patent Office’s operations
  • Expansion of the range of IP types protected within the Eurasian Patent System
  • Strengthening the EAPO’s positions in the Eurasian region and internationally
  • Development of a Eurasian dispute resolution system
  • Formation of the Eurasian Pharmaceutical Register
  • Expansion of educational projects and the development of the technoparks potential in the field of intellectual property

All of the EAPO’s areas for development for 2023–2028 are formulated in view of the current trends in the development of international, regional, and national patent systems, as well as with due account for innovative and integration processes in the field of intellectual property.
