
The Eurasian Patent Office, together with the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property, held a webinar entitled “Procedures for Granting Legal Protection to Industrial Designs in the Eurasian Region.”
Representatives of national patent offices from the EAPO Member states, examiners and applicants from the Eurasian region joined this online meeting. More than 60 participants from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan took part.
The webinar speakers were examiners from the Eurasian Patent Office and the patent offices from the EAPO Member States. During the presentations, the speakers demonstrated case studies from patent offices, explained the requirements for industrial design applications, and analyzed cases of requests and refusals.
The webinar focused on the specifics of registering industrial designs in the Eurasian region within the framework of national systems and the regional patent system. The examiners shared their experience of working with this IP object, and exchanged views on certain aspects of the requirements for industrial design applications and their examination.
