Visit of the EAPO Delegation to the National Patent Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan

From May 23 to 27, 2011 the EAPO delegation visited the National Institute of Intellectual Property of the Committee of Intellectual Property Rights of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter as “the Committee”).

The purpose of the visit was to implement, under the framework of cooperation with national patent offices – Contracting Parties to the EAPC, the information technology for preparation, production and issue of the electronic bulletin on CD-ROM at the Republic State Enterprise «National Institute of Intellectual Property» of the Committee.

As a result the information technology has been implemented and the pilot production of the bulletin has started. A workplace to produce the electronic version of the bulletin has been prepared, design of the electronic bulletin has been developed together with the specialists of the Republic State Enterprise «National Institute of Intellectual Property», the instruction on the issue of the bulletin, description of software, information and technological support of the information technology have been transferred to the specialists of the Republic State Enterprise. With the help of the implemented information technology tools the issue off the test cumulative CD-ROM “Industrial Property. Official Bulletin”, containing all the bulletins for 2011 for all relevant subject matter in two languages (in Kazakh and Russian) has been produced. Implementation of this information technology significantly reduces cost of the bulletin production, improves its quality and operability, and enables to switch to modern methods of publication and dissemination of patent information.
