Emil Mammadov, Counsel to the EAPO President, presented the EAPO initiatives on the development of the regional patent information product CISPATENT at the meeting of the CISPATENT Project Coordination Board.
The EAPO proposals are aimed at improving the technical platform of the project, technologies of data preparation, expansion of the data scope. It will enhance the value of CISPATENT for consumers and, at the same time, optimize the burden on the participating offices.
In particular, one of the proposals included the implementation of a pilot project together with Rospatent aimed at creating a platform for online publication of patent documents with the most updated options for searching and presentation of information and integration with consumers’ information systems.
The EAPO also proposed to elaborate on the possibility of posting information on industrial designs on the new platform, to study the potential development of data preparation tools and data quality control, and their translation into English by applying updated artificial intelligence systems.
The representatives of Rospatent supported the proposals and urged all interested offices to join the discussion of the pilot project and to work on it.
The participants also discussed and approved the results of the CISPATENT project in 2023 and the plan for the implementation of CISPATENT databases in 2024, as well as discussed statistics and some technical aspects of the provision of data by patent offices.
