Science and intellectual property

EAPO Vice-President Vladimir Ryabovolov took part in the Second Congress of Scientific Councils of the International Association of Academies of Sciences (IAAS), which was held in Shandong Province, China.

He addressed the correlation between science and the intellectual property system, national strategies for stimulating scientific and innovation activities (using the practice of the Republic of Belarus); cooperation with China at the bilateral and regional levels; and expert and information cooperation projects.

“Our main task is to create an effective system for innovators to ensure protection of their IP rights, to implement their breakthrough scientific achievements around the world, thus improving the quality of life and contributing to the development of our countries and peoples,” Vladimir Ryabovolov stated.

Note: The IAAS was established in 1993 to foster cooperation between the academies of sciences from different countries. Since 2017, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has provided administrative and methodological assistance to IAAS.
