July 27-28, 2016, Headquarters of the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization: working visit of the delegation of the European Patent Office (EPO) with Irena Jakimovska, Administrator of International Co-operation and N. Khardalias, Project Coordinator in IT. Negotiations were held between the representatives of the EAPO and EPO.
The aim of the visit was to discuss programs and plans on cooperation between EAPO and EPO.
During their visit the EPO delegation was received by EAPO President Saule Tlevlessova. The Parties, in the course of the meeting, confirmed their readiness to widen and strengthen the cooperation and partnering between the two regional organizations. The new trends of cooperation discussed during the visit will be a complex of works towards the EAPO transition to the use of Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC), bilateral agreement on project on carrying out accelerated patent examination (PPH) between the EAPO and the EPO, cooperation in organization of regional events, etc.
The mentioned areas of cooperation will be reflected in the bilateral work plan as well as in Memoranda of Understanding and Cooperation, which EAPO and EPO Presidents are planning to sign at the end of this and the beginning of the next years.
The meetings were constructive and took place in an amiable atmosphere.
