Press-Release on EAPO Delegation Participation in the Seminar on IP Strategy and Policy, Beijing, China

December 14-16, 2016: the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) delegation participated in the Seminar on IP Strategy and Policy, Organized by the State Intellectual Property Office of P.R. China in Beijing, China.

From the EAPC member states the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Belarus were invited, as well representatives from the IP offices of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine were participating in the Seminar.

The State Intellectual Property Office of P.R. China made presentations on the Chinese IP system and strategy on the first two days. In SIPO presentation “Enhance International Cooperation on IP: Promote Regional Common Development” the cooperation restarted with the Eurasian Patent Office was highlighted as one of the most important activities in the benefit of the inventors and industries of China.

On the third day of the Seminar the national IP office representatives presented their national IP strategies and polices. The Seminar was concluded with the EAPO presentation on “Development Agenda of the Eurasian Patent Organization”.

A visit was organized also to Beijing Service Center for Intellectual Property Protection, where the Seminar participants were acquainted with the IP Hot Line, IP Support and other services of the Center.

During the course of the Seminar and in the margins much was discussed on further cooperation between the Eurasian Patent Office and the State Intellectual Property Office of the P.R. China.
