Patent of the Month: solution to the problem of unstable powder delivery during endoscopic hemostasis
The Chinese company CHONGQING LIANBAI BOCHAO MEDICAL DEVICES CO., LTD. has been granted Eurasian Patent No. 053982 for an innovative device that addresses a critical challenge in surgery and gastroenterology — the unstable delivery of hemostatic agents during endoscopic procedures.
Endoscopic hemostasis requires the highest precision. However, previous models of sprayers suffered from unstable powder delivery, clumping, and channel blockages, which reduced the effectiveness of hemostasis and complicated the surgeon’s work. The new device ensures stable and precise delivery of the agent.
Key features of the solution:
- dual-mode system: the basic version blocks the main channel during spraying, and in the closed position creates positive pressure, preventing backflow of fluids;
- gravity-fed system and vibration-based loosening: the powder is fed by gravity, and a built-in vibration mechanism prevents it from caking;
- precise dosing: a perforated plate with calibrated holes and a conical nozzle prevent material buildup and allow for adjustment of the powder volume;
- ergonomics and protection: a hydrophobic filter protects the pump, and the rod-shaped battery in the rear compartment serves as a convenient handle.
Thanks to this design, the surgeon can precisely control both the amount of powder and the rate at which it is delivered. This makes the device versatile: from rapid treatment of extensive wounds to precise hemostasis. The compact rotary switch saves space, and the innovative design fully meets the high demands of modern minimally invasive surgery.
