EAPO President Grigory Ivliev took part in the seminar “Intellectual Property Protection and Enforcement in Eurasia,” organized by the Gorodissky & Partners law firm in Dubai.
“Business needs require the creation of a simple, cost-effective, and efficient procedure for obtaining protection of exclusive rights across the territories of states united by a common market or economic cooperation,” Grigory Ivliev stated.
Representatives of the Gorodissky & Partners law firm, namely Sergey Medvedev (Partner), Kirill Kukshev (Counsel), and Daria Markovtseva (Patent Attorney) participated in the seminar.
Patent attorneys and legal practitioners from the United Arab Emirates expressed strong interest in the presentations. The seminar covered key topics such as industrial design protection in Eurasia, licensing and franchising, and brand protection on the Internet.
Dmitry Neminushchy, Principal specialist of the International Relations Division of the EAPO Legal and Management Department, made a report on the legal protection of graphical user interfaces within the EAPO.
