EAPO President Grigory Ivliev took part in the round table discussion “IP Education: Opportunities and Prospects”, which was organized by Maqsut Narikbayev University in light of the launch of a new Master’s program “IP and Business Law” for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Representatives of WIPO, EAPO, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Institute of Intellectual Property (Kazpatent), as well as Armenia, Azerbaijan, China, Indonesia, Morocco and Tajikistan participated in the discussion on challenges and solutions related to human resources issues.
“Qualified specialists are a key challenge for the development of IP systems at both national and regional level. The EAPO is enhancing its educational programs for examiners, a wide range of professionals and potential applicants.
The Eurasian IP Education Centre basic department was established at the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property at the end of 2024. Practicing examiners and lawyers share their knowledge and expertise. Participants receive comprehensive, first-hand information and may subsequently qualify as Eurasian patent attorney,” Grigory Ivliev noted.
