INTERNSHIP OF EXAMINERS FROM THE NATIONAL PATENT OFFICES OF THE EAPO MEMBER STATES STARTED AT THE EAPO

EAPO President Grigory Ivliev delivered a welcoming speech and highlighted the importance of intellectual property in the modern world as well as the necessity of continuous improvement of patent examination of inventions on the territory governed by the Eurasian Patent Convention.

The leading EAPO specialists will give lectures on all aspects of the Eurasian patenting system, from filing applications to filing oppositions to the EAPO decisions, as well as the specifics of International Patent Classification, the patenting of IT solutions, the regional phase of PCT applications and the EAPO electronic services.

The EAPO approaches to the examination of applications for solutions not recognized as inventions, the use of patent classifications, the examination of inventions involving computer programs and/or algorithms for computers, and inventions in the field of artificial intelligence will be discussed.

During the internship, several round tables in the format of “question and answer” will be held. The specialists from the national patent offices will be able to discuss the approaches and experience of national offices, compare them with the experience of their colleagues from the EAPO, and make their comments and proposals on the prospects for the development of the Eurasian internship programs and advanced training.
