Internship for examiners completed in the EAPO

Examiners from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan attended a two-week practice-oriented training covering all aspects of the Eurasian patenting system: from filing procedures to appealing EAPO decisions. The program also included training on the use of International Patent Classification, patenting of IT solutions and EAPO electronic services.

This year, representative of the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI), Mr. Ayouba Idi – a patent examiner in the field of mechanics – also participated in the training. Mr. Idi appreciated the program and emphasized the practical value of the case studies on the examination of applications involving computer programs, algorithms and AI-related inventions.

EAPO President Grigory Ivliev presented internship certificates to the participants.

“EAPO has always prioritized educational initiatives and expert exchange. Our goal is to establish a common information and examination space. We are ready to further expand and enhance our internships so that examiners can master advanced practices and methodologies. Constructive expert dialogue can bring significant benefits to our applicants. It helps harmonize approaches and create clear and predictable conditions for IP protection”, – Grigory Ivliev stated.
