The fourth meeting of the working group on the creation of the Eurasian system of legal protection of industrial designs was held on December 10-11, 2018 at the EAPO headquarters.
The session convened according to the EAPO Administrative Council decision was attended by representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as representatives of the Eurasian Patent Office.
Following the meeting, the working group agreed changes to the draft Protocol on the protection of industrial designs to the Eurasian Patent Convention of September 9, 1994, aimed at reducing the period of examination of Eurasian applications on industrial designs and clarification of the certain wordings.
On the recommendation of the working group, the draft Protocol with the amendments will be sent to the national IP offices of the EAPC Member States for conducting, if necessary, its preliminary approval on the intra-State level.
