Eurasian System of Legal Protection of Industrial Designs Presented for BRICS Examiners

On October 29, 2020, an expert of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) spoke at the IP BRICS Examiners’ Training on Industrial Design organized by the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) in a videoconference mode.

The section attended by the EAPO focused on international design registration systems and their implementation in BRICS countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

The EAPO presentation acquainted experts with the activities of the Eurasian Patent Organization on the establishment of a regional system of legal protection of industrial designs.

The main stages of development of the Industrial Designs Protocol and the process of its ratification by the Member States of the Eurasian Patent Convention (EAPC), key features and advantages of the Eurasian ID system of legal protection, mechanisms of interaction between the Eurasian and national patent systems of the EAPC Member States.
