Eurasian Patent of the Month: Technology for Reversible Data Anonymization to Combat Fraud

The applicant, JSC «BUDUSHCHEE» (Russian Federation), has obtained Eurasian Patent No. 053152 for a method of reversible data anonymization and a system for exchanging anonymized data.

The technology enables banks, insurance companies, marketplaces, and other organizations to securely exchange information about fraudulent customers without disclosing personal data to third parties.

Data is encrypted using a shared secret and a hash of the original information, which makes decryption possible only if both the secret and the original data (or its hash) are available. The server module stores only anonymized tokens of fraudsters, without any ability to decrypt them.

The practical value of this solution lies in creating a secure decentralized infrastructure for joint efforts against cyber fraud, eliminating the risk of data leaks and violations of personal data protection laws.
