Astana hosted a seminar for technoparks on IP marketing for technoparks. It was attended by representatives of the EAPO Member States, Uzbekistan and the China National Intellectual Property Administration.
This seminar was a part of the EAPO and WIPO joint project on technoparks. In his opening address, EAPO President Grigory Ivliev highlighted the project’s significance for the development of the EAPO educational initiatives.
“We find it quite appropriate to unite seminars for technoparks and technology and innovation support centers (TISCs). A lot of technoparks in our countries combine these functions. I believe that “double” training will be useful for all the participants and will help to achieve synergy and the best results,’ said Ivliev.
The seminar was attended by Sholpan Abdreyeva, Chairwoman of the Committee for Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The experts explained the basics and specific aspects of IP marketing and described the development of marketing strategies and effective negotiation strategies with potential partners. EAPO examiner Assemgul Abenova informed about the impact of regional registration systems on the development of IP marketing in general. The seminar participants had a practical exercise on the development of IP marketing strategy.
