A major milestone in digital transformation and the development of the common Eurasian information and patent space has been reached in Azerbaijan. With the support of the EAPO, the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan has successfully launched the electronic filing service for Eurasian applications.
The service is integrated into the national PƏNAH electronic filing system, enabling applicants in Azerbaijan to submit Eurasian applications for inventions and industrial designs online.
This project serves as a pilot initiative within the EAPO framework and stands out for its unprecedented level of IT integration. Applications filed electronically are routed to the internal systems of the national office and are automatically forwarded to the EAPO through machine-to-machine integration upon completion of the necessary checks. The universal integration modules installed at both the national office and the EAPO will be used for further scaling of this solution to other patent offices across the region.
As a result, applicants can now benefit from a simple and user-friendly digital channel for interacting with the national patent office on Eurasian applications, while the patent office gained new digital services that will significantly enhance automation and operational efficiency.
