The seminar was organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) jointly with the National Institute of Intellectual Property Committee on Intellectual Property Rights Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the assistance of the EAPO and the Japan Patent Office.
Vice Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan Botagoz Zhakselekova welcomed the seminar participants at the opening ceremony.
On the first day, WIPO representatives presented information on WIPO’s work to support the development of TISCs, including training of specialists. Representatives of the EAPO Member States, as well as representatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan, shared their experience in establishing and further developing the TISC network in their countries, explained how to select and interact with TISC-based institutions, and described the practical assistance provided to applicants.
On the second day of the seminar, Associate Professor from Osaka University Kosuke Kato shared his university’s experience in effective technology management and innovation support services, in improving the technology transfer process through cooperation with government authorities and partner organizations.
Director of WIPO Technology and Innovation Support Division Andrew Czajkowski spoke about opportunities for regional TISC cooperation and integration with technopark activities.
