States Party to the Convention

The Eurasian Patent Convention was signed on September 9, 1994 in Moscow by the Heads of the Governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Kazakstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Ukraine and came into force on August 12, 1995 after Turkmenistan, Belarus and Tajikistan deposited their instruments of accession to the Convention to the WIPO Director General, on March 1, 1995, May 8, 1995 and May 12, 1995 respectively.

To date, the Convention is also ratified by the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Azerbaijan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Armenia.

In pursuance of Articles 2(3) and 3 of the Convention, the EAPO is governed by an Administrative Council. Each Contracting State is represented at the Administrative Council by a plenipotentiary representative and a deputy representative by power of attorney conferred by the Government of the Contracting State.

The Governments of the Contracting States appointed their plenipotentiary representatives to work in the Administrative Council. They arealso heads of the national patent offices.
