Brief Information

The National Center of Intellectual Property (NCIP) provides for protection of the intellectual property rights and exercises the functions of a patent body prescribed by the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.

NCIP has been established in pursuance of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus, dated September 24, 2001 No. 516 “On Improving the System of the Republican Bodies of State Administration and Other State-Owned Organizations Subordinate to the Government of the Republic of Belarus” and acts on the basis of the Regulations adopted by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of May 31, 2004 No. 641.

Within the competence of the assigned patent body functions NCIP receives applications for and issues titles of protection of the following industrial property subject matters as below:

·         inventions

·         utility models

·         industrial designs

·         trademarks and service marks

·         appellations of origin

·         plant varieties

·         integrated circuit topologies
